"I Am Home!"

What wonderful thoughts and feelings which comes with those words. “I am Home.”

We just arrived at 4 AM this early morning after 570 miles drive coming back from Texas. If you remember in one of my recent blogs, I shared the story of being in a car accident that totaled my car. An ongoing story that I said would be continued as I tell of the wonders that would be worked from this event. In all things God is in control of our life and even what may seem to be an ”Oh No,” is truly the beginning of some miracle about to begin. There were several that happened as the week passed and we waited for all to be finished and transportation restored. But first, let me talk about “I Am Home.”

Jesus spoke of many “I Am’s.” Never heard of “I Am Home” mentioned in any of the Gospels—but as I started this blog, my mind saw a new title for Jesus. When you think about all He is to us—Love, security, comfort, food, warm embrace of welcoming, and safe harbor in any storm---sure sounds like “home” to me. In fact, as the past two week went by after the accident—all the Trinity showed up in many ways to be there for me. Even when travels took us away from ‘home’—Home and all that it stands for---followed and stayed ever present at our side.

The phrase, “I am home” also brings into our own hearts great peace and comfort as we know that our life continues in some sort of normalcy and we are able to go another day, after rising from a bed that we love, going about our daily chores, and seeing all that is comfort and beauty that we carefully have surrounded ourselves with in life. Home—children, laughter, friends, faith community of support—all are a part of what we find to be a priceless treasure in our life—HOME.

Today as you go about living—do not forget or take for granted ‘home’ as you pray for all those whose home was torn away from them or people were torn away from by wars, earthquakes, fires, tornados—or loss of identity as it takes away the ability to establish credit that enable hard working people to be able to establish a home for the family. (Thank you Habitat for Humanity for striving to help those in this struggle.) Loss of jobs, divorce, unexpected deaths—all have a part in taking home away from those who dearly want ‘home’ in their lives. Please pray for our world, and ‘for the sake of His sorrowful Passion, dearest Father in Heaven have mercy on us and the whole world—the home You have provided for us—and forgive us Father for having trashed and sickened this beautiful Home given unto us.

How did a car accident lead me to these thoughts, and take us to away from home? My son-in-law works for a dealership and there for we always get best deals there. We got a used Jetta, and one of the reasons why—a picture on the internet showed the words—‘Praise God in the Storms’ by Casting Crowns as a digital readout of what was being played on the radio when the picture was taken. Awesome car with many added luxury features, and the financingwas all done over the phone. Thank You God for leading us to this car.

Another miracle was the final payoff from insurance company. First offer was given, which would mean money out of our pocket to pay off the car loan. I told the company, I had done research and felt payoff was too low. She promised to do more research. As she did, I prayed over a figure and ten minutes later received a call giving us a new payoff figure, and now there would be a check sent to us after the loan paid off. Thank You Jesus again!!!

While in Texas many ‘fires, including a trip to ER for me, and onset of bronchitis from allergies’ were experienced by family and ourselves and when asking God for Wisdom-was given 14 chapter of Job. This Word told me to remember how the devil wants to test us and to remember how we should handle all fires or struggles in life, with Praise and Thanks to send him flying in disgust! I was to also to remember how mightily blessed Job was when the testing was done. No Miracle can begin without first the prior events that necessitate a miracle in our lives. Thank You Father for all the miracles that happen around us daily in our lives at home, or whenever we travel, and leave home. Wherever we are---I AM is with us!!!

Someday, another trip will begin and we will be filled with unimaginable joy and peace as we embrace forever---Home, sweet, Home.
